Full Description

A view of the north fa├žade of the Bargate. According to Heywood Sumner, this is the gate's better side for "the northern front is as picturesque and varied as the southern is flat and commonplace". The building on the right-hand side is the Coachmaker's Arms, demolished shortly after 1904. Peeping out on the left are the premises of John T Tucker, auctioneer and house agent, 32 Above Bar Street.
